Rockefeller Preserve SIP Project Profile

Laurance Rockefeller Preserve - Grand Teton Nat'l Park

The Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve was designed as a model for environmental stewardship within the National Park System. The U.S. Green Building Council awarded Platinum LEED Certification, the highest level of achievement, to the Preserve.

The Preserve reduced its energy costs by 78% compared to a typical building by choosing energy efficient systems such as R-Control SIPs, geothermal heating, and photovoltaic panels. The Preserve promotes a whole building approach to sustainable development. Key areas that were considered are site development, water savings, sustainable recycled materials, and indoor environmental quality.

R-Control structural insulated panels offer superior insulation and provide the most efficient building envelope. R-Control SIPs not only provide a strong structural system that resist loads caused by wind and snow, but they are also environmentally friendly and save heating and cooling costs.
